Just got back from beautiful Austin, Texas, where we showcased and sold Side Effects at Indie Row. We spent three fun-filled days at the Austin Convention Center, connecting with visitors—including Patrick Leder (creator of Root) and other nominees for the Gamer's Voice award: Keymaster Games, Odd Bird Games, Grey Fox Games, Thorny Games, and Golden Bell Studios.
In the end, Grey Fox’s game Tsukuyumi took home the award by just 12 votes. Side Effects came in a close second.
A typical day at SXSW 2019.
Like Rocky, we still felt victorious. We sold out our entire inventory—games, prints, and wooden boxes—and connected with an incredible number of fans.
Overall, it was an honor to be featured among such amazing games. We definitely felt like the punk rock of the show.
